Today, I want to share a little about the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and what it means to us as Catholics. The Assumption is celebrated today, on August 15, and is a significant event in the Church as it commemorates the Virgin Mary's assumption into heaven, body and soul. This feast highlights Mary's unique role in salvation history and her close relationship with her son, Jesus. The Assumption is a holy day of obligation, meaning that Catholics are called to attend Mass to honor this special event.
